Cefepime

Cefepime is a very potent intravenous antibiotic that can be used in treatment of patients with febrile neutropenia, either alone, when the infection is not severe, or in combination with other antibiotics for severe infections.  The usual dosage of this drug is 2 grams every 8 hours.

Side effects:

Cefepime is a well-tolerated medication, with few side effects like

• headache

• nausea

• Skin rash

• diarrhea

• vomiting
