Chlorambucil (Leukeran)

This drug has been around since 1961. It is a very well tolerated medication which comes in oral tablet form. It can be used in a variety of schedules, such as daily for a few weeks, or at higher doses for a few days only, and then repeated every few weeks. It is most commonly used in treatment of the following cancers:

Leukeran is given mostly in conjunction with Prednisone. The type and extent of a cancer will determine the method and schedule of administration of this drug. This decision is made by the medical oncologist. Chlorambucil is normally administered daily for a number of days.
