Flutamide

Flutamide is another drug that was used in treatment of patients with prostate cancer. Prostate cancer cells are sensitive to male hormone and their growth depends on it. Flutamide inhibits the binding of male hormone, testosterone, to prostate cancer cells. This drug was always used in conjunction with other hormonal treatments such as Lupron, Zolodex, etc. Some studies have shown no additional benefit from using Flutamide and drugs with similar activity (Casodex).
