Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IV IgG)

This medication has been available for a while now and is a rather effective and safe medicine. The usage of IV IgG is limited to a few special circumstances:

• Immune deficiency in patients with low Immunoglobulin levels ( CLL)

• Low Platelet count due to immune mediated problems

This is a well tolerated medicine with few side effects. It is advised that the medicine be given intravenously and over many hours. Allergic reactions, low blood pressure has been reported with this drug.
