Side effects:

Lasix is a rather well tolerated medicine, however it is not free of side effects. Physicians administering Lasix should educate their patients about the following issues:

Patients who are taking Lasix should have frequent blood tests to monitor their blood Sodium and Potassium levels as well as kidney function tests. Most patients are also prescribed supplemental Potassium to overcome the side effects of Lasix. Supplemental Potassium is not advised in certain patients with kidney problems as well as those who are taking medicines that could cause Potassium retention.
