L-Asparaginase

L-Asparaginase is one of the older chemotherapy drugs which has been around and in use for many years. L-Asparaginase, when prepared for use, becomes a clear, colorless liquid, and is given by intravenous or intra-muscular route. It is most commonly used in treatment of the following cancers:

The type and extent of a cancer will determine the method and schedule of administration of the drug. This decision is made by the medical oncologist. L-Asparaginase is normally given for 10 consecutive days or three times a week for three weeks.
