Neulasta (pegfilgrastim)

Neulasta is the long acting form of Neupogen.  As opposed to Neupogen that is given once a day for so many days, this medicine is prescribed only once day after administration of chemotherapy. This medicine is used to prevent the most important side effect and complication of chemotherapy, which is lowering of white blood cells. Like Neupogen, it is well tolerated and  the only noticeable side effects , like Neupogen, is Bone pain a few days after the injection. The recommended dosage of Neulasta is a single subcutaneous injection of 6 mg administered once per chemotherapy cycle
