REVLIMID(lenalidomide)

Revlimid is a chemical derivative similar to Thalidomide.  it is taken once a day orally.  This drug has been approved by the FDA for treatment of the following conditions:

• Multiple  Myeloma

• Myelodysplastic Syndrome with chromosome 5q deletion.

Side effects:

This drug can be associated with any of the following problems;

• Nerve damage

• Blood Clot formation

• Low White blood counts

• Numbness, pain in the hands, arms, feet, or legs; prickling, burning sensation

• Somnolence, feeling sleepy

• Hangover feeling, loss of coordination, nervousness, confusion, fatigue, mood changes, dizziness

• Nausea

It is imperative that a patient communicate any side effects or problems to his/her medical oncologist.
